And step into the full power of your story

Most memoirs are about life’s hard knocks, messiness, challenges, dark moments, and, unfortunately, a whole lot of trauma.
What I know to be true about every single one of those is that with them comes shame.
Sometimes that shame is self-imposed and other times it’s the result of the messages we are receiving from the world around us.
But here’s also what I know to be true: shame takes up more space the more silence it’s awarded.
Hiding the shame feeds it, it doesn’t quiet it or make it go away.
Here’s what will:
…Giving your story a voice.
…Saying the hard things.
…Honoring your truth.
When you reclaim your narrative as the hero or heroine of your story, shame starts to fall away and strength and empowerment step in.
(I know. I’ve experienced it myself and witnessed it with my clients.)
And if you’ve found your bravery to overcome the darkness, sharing that story will help others find their bravery, too.
When you stop being silent, it gives another permission to speak their truth, too.
It’s time to release shame back to the underworld and step into the full power of your story.
