(We might even heal ourselves and each other in the process.)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>It was mid-April of 2019. I had only left my day job 10 days prior and was officially out on my own. I flew to St. Louis to attend a Live event with other women in budding virtual businesses. The room was brimming with the excitement and exhilaration of 100ish women who had recently made the leap onto the entrepreneurial path and who had the whole world of possibility now open to them.<\/p>\n<p>I had begun my business as offering copy and content writing, but I knew even then that where I started wouldn&#8217;t be where I ended. I already knew I had a much bigger mission and vision for myself than writing people&#8217;s monthly marketing content. I was open to being led, to being guided.<\/p>\n<p>And right there, as I sat inside that room, on the edge of my seat, soaking up every tidbit of knowledge each speaker had to offer, the Universe gave me my nudge, my forward motion.<\/p>\n<span><a onclick=\"read_toggle(1206147706, 'Read More', 'Read Less'); return false;\" class=\"read-link\" id=\"readlink1206147706\" style=\"readlink\" href=\"#\">Read More<\/a><\/span>\n<div class=\"read_div\" id=\"read1206147706\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>I sat listening to the host of the event talk about the emotional neglect and trauma she experienced from her mother who never believed she would amount to anything. I sat listening to another speaker talk about being at a job and robbed at gunpoint and her descent into the depths of depression and PTSD.These women&#8217;s stories gripped my heart, sent tears rolling down my face, AND lit my entire soul on fire.<\/p>\n<p>BOOM! Message delivered.<\/p>\n<p>I knew instantly RIGHT THEN what I wanted to do and where I wanted to take my business.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to help women &#8211; brilliant, bold, brave, powerhouse women &#8211; tell these stories of their grit, hope, and triumph. I wanted to support successful, intelligent, high-achieving women say out loud the things they had been through, to own their stories, to rewrite their narratives, to embrace the heroine that lived inside of them and had propelled them forward despite their odds.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, an internal voice started to whisper &#8220;Houston, we have a problem&#8230;You haven&#8217;t owned your OWN story.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Just like I KNEW what I wanted to do for others, I instantly KNEW what I NEEDED to do for myself.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t truly, authentically, genuinely guide women to write their books or tell their stories without doing it for myself. If I was going to model for them owning their story, I needed to own mine.<\/p>\n<p>IT WAS TIME I WRITE MY OWN DAMN BOOK.<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t know what my book should be about. I didn&#8217;t feel called to go back to the manuscript I wrote in graduate school when I was getting my M.F.A in writing. I was at the blank page with no idea.<\/p>\n<p>Then two weeks after that event, I received a dream that gave me the first inkling of what the book wanted to be. It showed me a black and white composition notebook cover and the words &#8220;Dear Universe&#8221; and I explored that idea, following it like breadcrumbs.<\/p>\n<p>A couple weeks later, I was at a networking event listening to a keynote speaker and the woman said something that made the whole book come to life. She said, &#8220;The universe isn&#8217;t doing it TO you, it&#8217;s doing it FOR you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>BOOM! Another message delivered.<\/p>\n<p>My book wanted to be letters to the universe about life lessons I didn&#8217;t see as gifts at the time. It wanted to be about bravery. It wanted to be about following my dreams. It wanted to be my story of <i>becoming<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>In a flurry of initial excitement, I began to brainstorm ideas about the book, to continue to explore it, to ask myself questions and see what answers arrived.<\/p>\n<p>And then&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>It sat there.<\/p>\n<p>My notes all taking up some space in a black and white composition notebook much like the one I had dreamt about. Because that felt right.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t get out of my own way. The whole thing felt overwhelming. I became doubtful of what made my story relevant. If anyone would care. I couldn&#8217;t get my own ideas organized. And the list goes on.<\/p>\n<p>When I flew to Utah sometime that fall to be a part of an event where I learned about my aura and essences and what it meant to be an essence of Creation. In understanding more about myself, I unlocked my own blocks and barriers. In being provided creation time to work on an idea with new knowledge of myself, I came to uncover my framework and process for getting my book started AND to keep going.<\/p>\n<p>The same framework and process that I now walk people through to finally write the book that is whispering their own names.<\/p>\n<p>Because my BIG MISSION AND VISION is to empower women&#8217;s stories and elevate their voices.
